Hosting, updates and continuity of battery passports

Plan availability, current data, exports and continuity across a battery’s lifecycle.

A passport is an ongoing record

The responsible operator must keep passport information accurate, complete and up to date. Hosting a page once is not the entire obligation. Plan for changing data, requests for access and changes in responsibility.

Make practical arrangements

  • Who may change information and who checks it?
  • How are versions and sources recorded?
  • How is authorised access maintained?
  • How can information be exported or transferred?
  • What happens if a supplier stops providing its service?

A permanent internet connection is not universally required

The need to update data depends on the information and lifecycle stage. The Commission does not impose a universal live connection for every battery. Distinguish the availability of the passport from a continuous connection to the battery itself.

AccuZegel’s intended approach

The proposed service combines onboarding with recurring hosting and dossier management. The portal is in development. Hosting of this public website is provided by Hetzner; arrangements for the future application will be specified separately.
