KNOWLEDGE / DATA AND ACCESS

Required battery passport data under Annex XIII

Understand model data, individual battery data, access levels and requirements that depend on category and timing.

Start with Annex XIII

Annex XIII of the Battery Regulation sets out the passport information. The Commission’s data-point guidance helps connect those requirements to battery categories, timing and other applicable obligations.

Model data and individual battery data

Shared model information can include the manufacturer, composition and technical specifications. An individual battery also needs its own identity and applicable lifecycle information. Reusing model data does not replace the individual passport.

Organise the information

  • Identity of the model, battery and responsible parties.
  • Composition and relevant material information.
  • Applicable performance, durability and condition data.
  • Information relevant to dismantling, repair, repurposing and recycling.
  • Supporting evidence, data provenance, version and access level.

Apply requirements field by field

Do not assume every field is public or mandatory from the same date. Record whether a field applies to your category, its legal basis, when it becomes required and who may access it. A checklist supports preparation but does not certify completeness for a particular product.
